Management Workshop

Collision Technician Apprentice
This ten-day program covers the basic subjects needed to become fluent in collision repair. Vital aspects of safety, E.P.A. regulations, automotive frame types and body panel identification are examined while introducing students to standard collision repair equipment and hand tools. Both classroom and hands-on lab exercises are included.

This class also deals with repair techniques and procedures for damaged panels utilizing body hammer and dolly repair, as well as metal finishing, body filler work, and pull rod / slide hammer practices. With both classroom and hands-on lab exercises, students also learn proper use of primer, surfacers and primer spray guns. Students also get to apply a base coat/clean coat finish to repaired panels.

Damage Analysis and Estimating
This four-day workshop teaches proper damage identification and how to efficiently and effectively write the estimate. Attendees will learn body panel and component ID for both interior and exterior panels, as well as steering and suspension components. Students will be challenged to not only find obvious but hidden damages, related and unrelated damages, included vs. not included operations.

Attendees will learn from an experienced estimator what insurance companies expect, what they will pay for (if you know to ask) and how and what to include on supplemental requests to get authorization for items that cannot be anticipated. Utilizing both classroom and hands on lab exercises, students will develop the skills necessary for today’s collision repair estimators to become more proficient and more productive. I-CAR curriculum will be included; content worth 1-2 I-CAR Gold points to those attending!
